Boosting Your Fertility

Fertility. It’s one word, but it withholds power, emotion and is a high priority for women who are looking to conceive and bring a little one into their world. However, having healthy and positive fertility outcomes can be a struggle and presents itself as an obstacle for many. The CDC shares, “6% of married women aged 15 to 44 years in the United States are unable to get pregnant after one year of trying…” 6 may seem like a small number but taking that percentage out of the hundreds of millions of women in the U.S. the result is unfortunately a great population affected. There are certain procedures, including IVF, In-Vitro Fertilization, and medication used to treat and promote fertility. It’s also essential to consider what foods and drinks they consume that either hinder or promote your fertility.

Try eating foods with high volumes of Folic acid. Sounds unfamiliar? It can actually be found in everyday foods: peas, leafy greens, eggs and lentils, as shared by a medical professional at Healthline (Brown, PhD). A medical study analyzing the relationship between folate intake and reproductive success shows that among 200 women consuming folate, there were “higher rates of implantation, clinical pregnancy, and live birth” (Gaskins et Al). Consider incorporating the foods mentioned above into your meals, and you’ll be doing something great for your fertility.

Harvard Health shares limiting intake of foods and drinks including red meat, sugary beverages, potatoes are intrinsic in promoting healthy fertility as indulging in these have negative effects (Dr. Shmerling). These foods can be easily eliminated from your diet as you can find alternatives. Instead of sugary beverages, consider sugar free sparkling beverages, or Poppi, a sparkling soda that also contains probiotics and is low in sugar. It’s a win-win!

Dr. Shmerling also mentions that consumption of Omega 3- Fatty Acids can promote fertility. Luckily, here at Naturna we offer a great Omega supplement, Omega 3 EPA-DHA 720. As always, we carry and promote reputable brands that will satisfy you and make you eager to restock. Feel free to pick it up after one of your follow-up sessions or your initial session here at Naturna (confirming with one of our practitioners that it’s best for your health plan)! We can also sign you up with our convenient and simple online dispensary, Fullscript, where you can have the supplement shipped straight to your residence!

Lastly, this is our most obvious one: consider acupuncture! Multiple patients and clients of ours are satisfied with the results of Acupuncture on their fertility journey. In general, acupuncture aids circulatory function and regulates your hormone levels in treating fertility. First and foremost, schedule an initial consultation with one of our practitioners, which includes multiple services: counseling, health handouts, a comprehensive intake (depending on which treatment you choose: 60 minutes or 90 minutes), and a recommended health plan. Our other resources include, Junk Juice, an herbal concoction that has been promoted on the Real Estate show, Million Dollar Listing New York. We offer a fertility blend that is customized depending on what you note on your questionnaire, and is offered in liquid and powder form. Click on the link below to learn more!
